पश्चिम लाभ की दिशा है, प्राप्ति की दिशा है। जो भी काम आप करते हैं उसके बदले में आपको क्या प्राप्ति होनी है वह इस दिशा के द्वारा प्राप्त होती है। आपने कोई व्यापारिक सौदा किया उस सौदे को करके आपको कितना लाभ होना है वह इस दिशा के द्वारा ही तय होता है। वास्तु अनुसार प्राप्ति की दिशा यही है, मनुष्य के हाथ में आना या न आना यहीं से तय होता है।
यदि भवन की यह दिशा असन्तुलन में है तो मनुष्य जितने भी कार्य करता है उसका लाभ उसके हाथ में नही आता है। कितना भी वह प्रयास कर ले परन्तु पूर्ण लाभ वह नही ले पाता है। इसलिये पूर्णतया लाभ लेने के लिये पश्चिम दिशा को स्वच्छ और सन्तुलन में रखना चाहिये तभी मनुष्य को उसके कार्यों का लाभ मिल पाता है।
इसके अतिरिक्त यह दिशा होती है प्राप्ति। किस तरह की प्राप्ति - किसी भी तरह की प्राप्ति, जो भी कुछ आप हासिल करना चाहते हैं उसको इस दिशा में लगा देना चाहिये। यदि आप मकान लेना चाहते हैं तो मकान की फोटो के साथ अपनी फोटो को इस दिशा में लगा दीजिये, या फिर आप पैसा कमाना चाहते हैं तो धन की फोटो के साथ अपनी फोटो लगा दीजिये। राजनीति में हैं और लोगों को सहयोग चाहते हैं तो भीड़ की फोटो के साथ अपनी फोटो लगा दीजिये। किसी कम्पनी में नौकरी चाहिये तो उस कम्पनी के लोगो के साथ अपनी फोटो लगा दीजिये। यहाँ दो बातें ध्यान वाली है वह यह कि जिस फ्रेम मे यह फोटो लगा रहे हैं वह काले रंग का होना चाहिये और फोटो पर एक फोकस वाला पीले रंग का बल्ब लगाना चाहिये।
