डाईनिंग रूम ऐसा रूम होता है जहाँ परिवार के सभी सदस्य साथ बैठकर भोजन ग्रहण करते हैं, इसलिये इस रूम का सही दिशा में होना आवश्यक होता है। सही दिशा में डाईनिंग रूम होने से डाईनिंग टेबल पर आनंदमय सकारात्मक माहौल हमेशा बना रहता है, फलस्वरूप इस तरह के वातावरण में बैठकर भोजन करने में आनन्द आता है। भोजन कर रहे अन्य सदस्यों के साथ मधुर सम्बन्ध बने रहते हैं। सही दिशा के डाईनिंग रूम में बैठकर किया गया भोजन आसानी से पच जाता है और वह स्वास्थ्यवर्धक होता है, शरीर हृष्ट-पुष्ट व बलवान होता है। वहीं सामान्य या गलत दिशा में बैठकर किया गया भोजन स्वास्थ्यवर्धक न होकर सिर्फ पेट भरने का साधन रह जाता है।

दक्षिण-दक्षिण-पूर्व दिशा एक आदर्श दिशा होती है भोजन कक्ष के लिये, यह दिशा ताकत और आत्मविश्वास से जुड़ी होती है। यहाँ का अनुकूल कलर लाल होता है, यानि इस दिशा के डाईनिंग रूम में आप लाल रंग की सजावट करते हैं तो वह ज्यादा लाभप्रद रहता है। लाल रंग की सजावट करने से यह इस दिशा को मजबूत करता है।
इस दिशा में भोजन कक्ष बनाने से वह उपचार की तरह प्रभावी होता है, क्योंकि इस दक्षिण-दक्षिण-पूर्व दिशा में भोजन कक्ष बनाने से भवन में इस तरह का भोजन बनता है कि उसमें जरूरी पोषक तत्व शामिल होते हैं जोकि भवन निवासियों की सेहत के लिये अच्छा होता है। इसके अतिरिक्त इस दिशा में ग्रहण किया गया भोजन पच भी जल्दी जाता है जिस कारण यह किसी तरह की व्याधि भी मनुष्य के शरीर में उत्पन्न नहीं करता है।
