टी-वी- एक ऐसा उपकरण होता है जो सभी घरों में पाया जाता है, सर्वप्रथम इसका प्रयोग मनोरंजन के लिये किया जाता है, परन्तु आज के आधुनिक युग में टी-वी- का उपयोग मनोरंजन के अतिरिक्त जानकारी हासिल करने हेतू भी किया जाता है। आजकल काफी सारे न्यूज़ के चैनल्स हैं जिनके माध्यम से विभिन्न प्रकार की जानकारी व न्यूज़ प्राप्त की जाती है। इसके अतिरिक्त स्वास्थ्य सम्बन्धित प्रोग्राम भी टी-वी- पर देखे जाते हैं। मतलब कि टी-वी- आज सिर्फ मनोरंजन तक ही सीमित नही है इस पर मनोरंजन के अतिरिक्त स्वास्थ्य, आध्यात्मिक जानकारी भी देखी जा सकती है व अगर आपको कुछ सीखना है तो भी उससे सम्बन्धित चैनल्स आज टी-वी- पर मौजूद हैं। या फिर व्यापार से सम्बन्धित जानकारी व व्यापार में लाभ आने वाली जानकारियाँ भी जुटा सकते हैं।
